Food preferences? Here’s how we can help!

We want your Gather experience to be a comfortable and happy one. If you have food preferences or allergies we’ve listed below how we can help and what facilities are available to you on the day.

Dietary preferences

At Gather we cater to vegan, vegetarian, and low-gluten diets.

Food allergies

Because we make all the food fresh in a kitchen that also handles gluten, nuts, egg, and dairy, and we do not want to risk your health, we don’t offer food suitable for coeliacs or people with severe allergies.

If you have allergies and are concerned about the food we provide, we do encourage you to bring your own food or anything else that will help you feel comfortable for the day. We want you to be able to focus on enjoying your time with us, not worrying about your health.

If you’ve chosen a vegan, vegetarian, or low-gluten option, this will be available from the side of the main serving area.

If you have food allergies please let us know when you arrive and we’ll introduce you to an assigned volunteer who will be able to assist you with refrigeration, heating of food, and answer any questions you have.

If your food requires refrigeration we can help out with that! We’ll have a shelf set aside at the top part of an accessible fridge. The fridge is used to store products that contain gluten, meat and dairy so please ensure your food is in a sealed container and clearly labelled.

Cooking/heating food

We have microwaves on site for reheating pre-cooked food, your assigned volunteer will be able to assist you when you’re ready. Boiling water is available at the tea station.

Cutlery and plates

Because the crockery and cutlery for the event is handled in the main kitchen, there is a risk of cross-contamination. To avoid this, we’ll have disposable plates and cutlery available from the registration desk if you need them. If you’re bringing your own containers and cutlery there’s also a sink available to wash up when you’ve finished.

A fruit selection will be on offer during the day and it will be un-cut. The fruit will be seasonal, last year we had apples, pears and bananas.

Coffee, tea, cold drinks, bottled water and tap water will be available. You’ll get vouchers for free ones and then it’s pay-as-you-go after that.

Any questions?

If you have any questions before the day please don’t hesitate to let us know.
